

Hearty meal with a spicy kick
Mandu Bibim Noodles

Basic Ingredients
- 6 frozen dumplings
- 1 packet noodles, instant noodles, glass noodles or chewy noodles
- 1 carrot
- ⅓ cabbage
- ½ bag of beansprouts
- Cooking oil
Sauce Ingredients
- 1/3 cup (80g) gochujang (red pepper paste)
- 4 tbsp (30g) vinegar
- 3 tbsp (36g) brown/white sugar
- 1 tbsp (10g) dark soy sauce (진간장)
- 1/2 tbsp (3g) fine red pepper powder
- 1 tbsp (20g) minced garlic
- 6 tbsp (36g) ground sesame seeds
- 1-2 tbsp sesame oil

Step 1
✔️ Mix the gochujang, vinegar, brown sugar, dark soy sauce, fine red pepper powder, and minced garlic in a bowl.
✔️ Stir until the sugar is dissolved to make the noodle sauce.

Step 2
✔️ Blanch the beansprouts.
✔️ Soak the beansprouts in cold water.
✔️ Drain out any excess water afterwards.

Step 3
✔️ Julienne the carrots.
✔️ Julienne the cabbage.
✔️ Cut the onions into small, bite-sized chunks.

Step 4
✔️ Cook the noodles, chewy noodles, or glass noodles in boiling water.
✔️ Once the noodles are completely cooked, remove from the pot and rinse under cold water while rubbing hard to remove the starch.
✔️ Completely drain the excess water from the noodles.

Step 5
✔️ Put the cooked noodles, carrots, beansprouts, cabbage and onions into a bowl.
✔️ Mix the noodles with the bibim noodle sauce.
✔️ Drizzle some sesame oil over the noodles.

Step 6
✔️ Heat the pan for about 30 seconds on medium-high heat.
✔️ Add about 2-3 tbsp of cooking oil into the heated frying pan.
✔️ Add the dumplings into the heated pan.
✔️ Pan-fry the dumplings for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin turns golden-brown.
